What is R&B music?

Tuesday, December 30th, 2008

Years ago it used to be Rhythm & Blues, then seemed to change to “black gangster rapper” type music.
Then I watched a wimpy looking white guy who didn’t sound too good to me (currently number 1 on the R&B chart!!) on American Idol last night and I’m really confused, can any of the younger guys explain? Thanks.
From a stuggling to keep up 50 year old man.
PS, I prefer the gangster stuff.

Imagination

Okay so I want be poet, I write things that I think will sound good and rhyme well that’ll have an audience Captivated and thinking wow that’s deep.
Poetry is something that’s spawn from the mind
Written on the soul and spoken with truth.
When I write my poetry and read my words back to an audience I want them to eloquently roll off my tongue and become vivacious as their brought
To life with movement of ones Imagination an imagination that can be so radical it’s like two lovebirds
Making love for the first time with moaning and deep inhale and exhale that makes organisms even more inevitable so good and magnificent
You become skeptical that such a youthful person like myself could combine so much emotion and rhythm across blue lines
As the ink drips from my stylo as the French would call it that captioning that you never could experience in your imagination will become pivotal
To you before I’m done this poem. I want my poem to feel awesome to the spirit as the sun feels as it glows in your beautiful face as you awaken
In that king sized bed, with the smell of mandarins and papaya aroma is filled in the room and the feeling of soft lips touching you and the sweep
Of a warm tongue brushing across your bottom lip and gently make a rythamatic movement with yours.
See where my imagination can go and I all I want to do is be a poet.

Guitar players- developing a ‘five fret stretch’?

Monday, December 22nd, 2008

I’ve been playing for a while now, and I guess I could call myself an ‘intermediate’ player- I was working on this blues rhythm riff in C the other day from www.wholenote.com. I can’t give the exact addres, but the lesson is called ‘Stretch Blues’. In it, it calls for playing the 3rd(C) fret on the A string and the 8th fret on the D string(B Flat) simultaneously-my acoustic is a full sized dreadnaught with a 25 1/2″ scale and I don’t exactly have huge hands to work with-any good stretching exercises out there?

What’s the song that was played in the “Terminator1″ when Arnold knocked out a big man and took his clothes?

Saturday, December 20th, 2008

The same song was played in the beginning of “Problem Child 1″. It has a “blues” rhythm. I think it is a song of John Lee Hooker but not sure.

BTW, the song I’ve mentioned was neither the soundtrack of “Blues Brothers” nor the “Boom boom” of JLH.
