Why is it that a lot of hip-hop/R&B songs talk about sex?
Thursday, February 5th, 2009trust me. I’m a mature teenager and i love songs that are played these days. But at the same time i get so sick and disgusted of how most of the songs on the radio talk about sex and how they all immorally disrespects women. I remember someone say, “people wonder why r&b songs describe sex and stuff but if it wasn’t for that, RnB can’t exist.” but Wikipedia says this: [Writer/producer Robert Palmer defines "rhythm & blues as a catchall term referring to any music that was made by and for black Americans.] You can go to Wikipedia and read on more about it and it doesn’t really mention the word “sex.”
Of course there are some songs that are really deep and meaningful but i’m really talking about the songs that are considered “smash” and “hit.” can someone please explain this to meeee i’m just so fed up with trashy songs.
Why are Rap and Hip Hop labeled as R&B when they have nothing to do with R&B?
Wednesday, February 4th, 2009R&B stands for “Rhythm and Blues” which is like Blues music you can dance to. It like a mixture of Jazz and Blues. I don’t understand why people are labeling Urban Pop as R&B….there’s NOTHING Blues about it.
It like labeling Catholicism as Buddhism. To someone like me who thrives on Jazz and Blues…. it sure seems that way.
