Anyone else thought country music was noise and later changed their minds?
Lately I’ve been listening to country while driving and I’m impressed with the rhythm. The lyrics tell the most poignant stories. I also like the accent or twang, the more pronounced the better and the guitar.
BTW: I’m an anything black kinda girl – a huge fan of rhythm and blues, rap etc. What’s happening here?

Is Charlie Pride your dad?
Think that Country Music is more an age thing
You don’t see many Teenie Boppers at Concerts
Country Music covers many ranges from Patsy Cline to
Garth Brooks steming from Folk and Blues to Rock and Roll
Most Country Songs are about Life
And many Words in most of the Songs we can relate
to Happenings within our own Lives
I used to hate it and now it is an addiction. I still like my goth music but country wins out everytime!! Mmmmm, single cowboys at musters and concerts.
I have gone through phases of liking it and not. I used to like it real well, then thought it was getting too commercial and pop sounding. Then it got interesting again. Now I like about 10% of what’s on the radio, but I have my own favorites on CD. Some of it IS noise and some is great.
When I used to hear my parents listening to it I hated it! Now I can’t live without. Country music is true music. No computerization or synthesized background noise. Just true vocal and instrumental music with good story lines. Country songs don’t have derogatory themes and swear words either.
i grew up on country music and i still love it. yeah there are times when i listen to other types of music, but i always listen to country music. country music is true, life, and has great rhythm as you said. i guess having grown up on it is part of the reason i like it so much cause it reminds me of home sometimes. but i will always love country music. reba mcentire is my favorite, even though i think its impossible to have only one favorite in country music. there are so many good artists, but reba’s the one i can relate to most. country music is definately growing and becoming more contemporary. i like the more traditional artists in country music.
