Leader Masashi Sugiyama, both trumpet player and brass educator in Japan, started the big band Serendipity 18 in 2003. Serendipity 18 named after Bob Florence CD. The band perform around Tokyo a few times in a year. They sometimes play with great players like Bill Watrous, Bob Sheppard and Eric Marienthal.
